Blogging Brilliance 5.18.05

Here's another question that I would love to know your answers to....

(By the way, naming these posts "Blogging Brilliance" has nothing to do with the concept - it's all about your answers!)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LINE FROM A SONG?

Even if you don't know the title or who sings it - throw it out there and someone else may.

I apologize to my friends who have heard this already so many times, but here's mine...

"I'm gonna find myself a girl
who can show me what laughter means,
and we'll fill in the missing colors
in each other's paint-by-number dreams..."

~Jackson Browne, The Pretender

What's your favorite?

"so often time it happens, that we live our lives in chains and we never even know we have the key"

The Eagles- "Already Gone"

VK - I love Sugarland! Did you see them on the ACM's last night? They were great, but at the end of their song, the lead singer looked like her gym teacher was yelling at her, "Get those knees up!" Seriously, what was up with that dance?

Charlie and Libby - we're all picking classics! I love those songs!

We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic

Van Morrison "Into the Mystic" my favorite song ;)

It's kind of an obscure little song but, oh well, I'm kind of obscure myself...

"I laugh, I love, I hope, I try
I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry
And I know you do the same things too
So we're really not that different
me and you"
Collin Raye-Not that different

"She's constantly amazed by the blades of the fan on the ceiling/
And the funny little faces she makes can't help but be appealing/
She loves to ride through the town with the top down/
Feel the warm breeze on her gentle skin/
She is my next of kin"
-- "Little Miss Magic," Jimmy Buffett

"I'm gonna be bad,
I'm gonna be cruel.
I'm gonna do everything they
taught me down in Cath-o-lic school."
-- "Bad," Cowboy Mouth
Okay, that one's not my favorite, but it makes me laugh everytime I hear it

"She's always a woman to me."
And the whole chorus of the song.

okay, it's cheating, because it's more than a line... but it all flows together so well:
You've got a methodist coloring book
And you color really well
But don't color outside the lines
Or God will send you to Hell
'Cause God hates war
And God hates crime
A' but he really hates people
Who color outside the lines

You've got a methodist coloring book
Don't color outside the lines
'Cause if God doesn't strike you with lightning
He'll at least make you go blind
Good people get sent to the attic
Bad people will roast in the cellar
But there's a special kind a' Hell
For those who just won't learn to color

Dead Milkmen "Methodist Coloring Book"
